Risk-Free 365-Day Return Policy

We understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned — whether you ordered too many, changed your mind, or a product didn’t work out. That’s why AquariumSupply.com proudly offers Risk-Free 365-Day Returns on most items.

We stand behind the quality of our products and aim to make your experience hassle-free. Please read the policy below carefully to ensure a smooth return process.

How to Start a Return

All items being returned must have a valid Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) supplied by our team. To request an RMA and receive return instructions, contact us directly at:

We will provide you with the appropriate return address, RMA number, and any packaging instructions needed.

Please do not send any return without first obtaining authorization, as it may delay or void your refund.

Return Address

Return address will be provided in your RMA email.
Ensure your RMA number is clearly included inside or on the outside of your return package. All returns must include:

  • Original product packaging
  • Manuals, instructions, and all accessories
  • A copy of your packing slip or invoice (if available)

No Longer Need It? Ordered Too Many? We’ve Got You Covered.

We gladly accept returns on most new, unused, and unopened products within 365 days of the original purchase date. No need to worry—just reach out and we’ll help you get started.

  • Orders placed in the last 60 days are eligible for a refund to your original payment method or store credit (your choice).
  • Orders over 60 days old will be refunded in the form of store credit (Reward Points) for future purchases on AquariumSupply.com.

Opened But Unused Items? We Can Still Help.

If you’ve opened the box but never used the product and it’s still in perfect condition, we can accept it as a return within 30 days of purchase, minus a 10% restocking fee.

To qualify:

  • The product must never have touched water.
  • It must include all original packaging and accessories.
  • Packaging must be intact, with all inserts and manuals included.

If any components are missing, damaged, or altered, your return may be subject to an increased restocking fee or may be returned to you without a refund.

Returns of opened-but-unused products more than 30 days after purchase will not be accepted and will be shipped back to you free of charge.

Products That Cannot Be Returned

Some products, due to safety, perishability, or customization, are not eligible for return under any circumstances unless they arrive damaged or defective:

  • Live goods (e.g., live plants, coral, fish)
  • Frozen or refrigerated foods
  • Medications and water treatments
  • Dry and live rock
  • Opened food products
  • Custom or made-to-order items
  • Items sold on clearance, liquidation, or final sale

Drop-Shipped Item Returns

Some items are shipped directly from our suppliers (not our main warehouse). If you want to return a drop-shipped item:

  • The item must be new, unused, and in original packaging.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • We do not provide return labels for drop-shipped items.
  • 20% restocking fee will be applied upon inspection.

Drop-shipped items that were shipped via freight or LTL (e.g., tanks, sumps, large aquariums) are generally not returnable. If you'd like to explore return options, our customer service team can help you coordinate directly with the supplier. In most cases, restocking and freight charges will apply, and return approval is not guaranteed.

 

Shipping Notes for All Returns

  • Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.
  • Return shipping costs may be deducted from your refund in certain cases.
  • Gift cards are non-refundable.
  • All products should be inspected immediately upon delivery. Any shipping damages or incorrect items must be reported within 3 business days.

Flat Rate Return Shipping (U.S. Customers Only)

If you're returning from the contiguous 48 states, we offer a convenient $12.99 flat-rate return label (per package).
This service excludes oversized or restricted items (e.g., tanks, light fixtures, rock, salt, sumps, etc.). Contact us if you're unsure if your item qualifies.

Used or Water-Exposed Items

Unfortunately, used items and any products that have been exposed to water cannot be returned for a refund or credit. This includes items installed, submerged, or in contact with tank systems.

Used products will be returned to you at no charge.

Warranty Support & Manufacturer Defects

If your product is defective or stops working due to a manufacturer defect within 30 days, we’ll exchange it at no cost to you.

If your item is outside our return window but still under the manufacturer’s warranty, we’ll:

  • Assist you in contacting the manufacturer
  • Help facilitate the warranty process
  • Provide documentation or photos if needed

AquariumSupply.com is here to support you throughout the product’s warranty lifecycle when possible.

Shipping Damage Claims

In the rare case of shipping damage, please contact us within 3 business days of delivery.
We will replace the item free of charge and handle any carrier claims directly.

Important:

  • Retain all damaged items and original packaging
  • Include photos when you contact us (helpful but not always required)

For drop-shipped or freight-shipped items, we will contact the supplier on your behalf and guide you through the next steps.

Dry Rock & Live Rock Shipping Damage

While we package rock securely, damage during shipping is possible and cannot be refunded or replaced, as it is not covered by shipping insurance. Broken pieces can often be repaired using aquarium-safe epoxy or glue.

Frozen Food & Live Goods Shipping Issues

If frozen items or live goods arrive damaged or are lost in transit, please contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue promptly. We cannot cancel or refund these items once the order is placed unless the product was damaged during delivery.

Wholesale Accounts

This policy applies only to retail (non-wholesale) orders.
Wholesale returns are subject to different terms. Please contact us for more information if you're a wholesale customer.
